Meet Anne

Known for her reliability and respect for others, it’s no surprise that Anne was nominated to be employee of the month for February.

Her strong work ethic came about through a long and diverse career. In fact, before she started work as a disability support worker, Anne worked in an array of jobs, from cleaner to bartender.

“Working in a pub is a lot of fun, that’s for sure.” Anne said. “I’ve also worked in a bottle shop, but the pub is more fun.”

Having no experience in support work before she started at eQuality almost nine months ago, Anne said it can be a challenge starting fresh in the industry.

“My advice for new starters would be to take in all the information you can from your team members. Also, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Aim high with the support you offer, but remember to just relax, and do the best job you can.”

Anne has quickly found that working in disability support is an incredibly rewarding experience. She said that watching clients achieve their goals is a “great feeling.”

“It’s amazing to know that I can support clients, it’s really a fantastic experience.”

When she’s not at work, Anne would likely be found chilling out at home with her family, watching a comedy film.

“I do love Notting Hill, even though it’s more of a Rom-Com than a comedy, it’s still a great watch. Bit of a guilty pleasure.”
