Housemates Sam and John recently spent a sunny afternoon at Eastern Beach in Geelong, enjoying the sea breeze, good food and great company.
With support from Alex, one of their Disability Support Workers, the pair wandered along the foreshore, taking in the sights, laughing together and soaking up everything they love about being outdoors.
It was an extra special day when they spotted the STS Young Endeavour, Australia’s national sail training ship, anchored nearby. The impressive Navy vessel caught their attention, sparking plenty of curiosity and smiles.
After their walk, the trio stopped in at Caledonia Shores for a bite to eat, a shared favourite for both Sam and John, who love bonding over food.
“They both love being near the water,” said Alex. “John was talking about learning to swim at Eastern Beach years ago with his family, and Sam was just grinning from ear to ear the whole time. It was a really lovely day out.”
For Sam and John, these moments are what it’s all about; spending time together, reliving happy memories and enjoying life in their own way.
