If you work at eQuality Support, there’s a good chance you’ve met Jess, August’s employee of the month.
As the Human Resources Officer, she’s the friendly face you meet in your first interview or systems training.
Jess started with eQuality Support in November 2020 as the Training and Administration Officer. As Jess’s responsibilities grew in recruitment and induction, Jess joined the Human Resources (HR) team in early 2022, working with Jacki the HR Manager.
Since then, Jess has thrived in her new position. So much so, that she was named August’s employee of the month.
Despite her nomination, Jess said that she’s just grateful her work helps to support clients.
“My days are generally filled with interviews, recruitment activities, and training new staff members,” she said.
“I love being able to build relationships with such high-quality support workers and know that our clients are being supported so well.”
Jess was nominated for her hard work and getting stuck into her new HR role. One of her nominations reads that Jess not only accepted her new position but embraced it.
When asked what her favourite part of working at eQuality Support was, Jess was quick to respond.
“The people! Both our clients and staff,” she said.
“We have an amazing group of people that are genuinely passionate about making a difference every day, which is great to be a part of.”
Of course, some days can be more challenging than others.
Jess said that after a stressful day, “prioritising ‘me-time’ is important”.
“To unwind, I usually catch up with friends, go to the gym, or spend quality time with my kitten. I try to remind myself to not take things too personally and make time for what’s important to me.”
