What’s your new role?

I’ve started a new role as Geelong’s Client Services Manager.

What do you enjoy most about your new role?

I enjoy being able to focus more on client goals, getting our clients more involved in their local communities, keeping them active, and supporting a healthy lifestyle. Supporting client goals such as signing up to gyms and organising community activities such as fishing charter events.

Can you share your career journey with eQuality Support?

I started with eQuality Support as a Disability Support Worker back in 2021. I had no experience in support work, but knew I really wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I worked hard and learnt as much as I could, and a year later, my managers asked me to join the on-call roster. A few months after joining on-call, a Client Services Officer position opened in Geelong which I was lucky enough to obtained for the last two years, now beginning journey in the client services manager position.

Now, I’ve started my new role as Client Services Manager and I’m loving it. There’s a lot to learn about the NDIS but I’m grateful to have a supportive team around me.

What’s the most rewarding part of working in disability support for you?

The most rewarding part is seeing clients accomplish their goals, big or small. It’s heartwarming watching them enjoy their lives and achieve positive outcomes.

What’s your advice to people wanting to progress their career?

My advice is, if you want to progress your career, is not to be afraid and speak up or you may never know your full potential.

What does the future look like for you?

Honestly, I don’t know. I’m very happy in this role and at eQuality Support, and love the work I do. You never know what opportunities might come up in future. But I know I always want to be in a field where I’m supporting, helping, or giving back to people.
